Dusty Rebels Rockabilly Festival is nearly here!

Yes! It's that time of the year again, time to dust off you dancing shoes, get your swing dress ready and grab your greaser for the 2015 Dusty Rebels & The Bombshells Festival.

As usual, there will be something For Everyone to be Sampled, Bought, Tasted, and Tried at the festival this year.

The organisers have dug deep and provided Cape Town’s finest lifestyle vendors for the Dusty Rebels and The Bombshells Rockabilly Festival (DRTB), making sure anyone and everyone has something to see and do at SA’s premier 40s and 50s lifestyle festival.

Here’s the full rundown of all that can be sampled, bought, tasted and tried between 12 noon and 12 midnight at the West Coast Ostrich Ranch on Saturday 14 November 2015.

First of all, don’t go hungry…

The NOB’s famously huge burgers are worth saving yourself for. Add a Chip n Dip. Jack Rabbit’s specialised comfort food options are always a pleasant, event-specific surprise, while Wahineoffers Asian and Polynesian food, with vegetarian options.

Baguette Bicycle hotdogs are famous around the SA festival circuit, while El Burro and Meisies Kitchenstock a taste of Mexico and Portugal respectively. Cool down with ice cream from Creamy tops and ice lollies from Las Paletas, and snack on some tasty treats from Second Breakfast and La Rhine Biltong.

Finally, you can wash it all down in the Jack Daniels Bar Area, or if you prefer, with great coffee from Brazillaint Express.

Cars and Bikes
DRTB is all about getting motors running. Harley - Davidson Tygervalley and Anvl Kraft will be on site for bike enthusiasts. 8 Crate Garage specializes in complete muscle car restoration, fabrications & conversions of cars. Need some new gear? Mr Helmet provides unique, freaky and attitude helmets for all uses. Detroit Vintage Garage will display some of their vintage, classic and exotic car items.
SA Hotrods Magazine will also be on site to cover the event, and will be available to chat to on the day.

 Make-up and Hair
Mac Cosmetics provide their unique products for that bombshell look; Scar will provide 40s and 50s rockabilly hair styling, while Barnet Fair and Widow Maker offer classic barber services (including beard-care) for the rebels.

Shop till you bop…
This year’s kiddies area is hosted by Clamber Club, so you can take a moment to get to some of the dozens of vendors on show.

Decades of Vintage sells exactly what the name says: vintage clothing, collectables, vintage jewelry, bags, suitcases and more.

And for the first time this year, our new store, Retrospective Fashion Recreated (Cape Town) will be there, having taken a double booth! We will have a huge selection of Rockabilly and Pinup clothing, accessories, footwear and vintage inspired swimwear.

Add some cool frames with Pedro’s Bitchin Eyewear, and accessorise with several options from Black Betty Designs, R.G.S. Design and Dan Fuller Jewelry. And when you’re fully kitted out, head on over to the Coco Caravan Photo Booth to capture your new look. Bokeh Fashion Film, South Africa’s first fashion film festival, will also be in attendance.

For sportier types there’s a board with your name on it at Dutchie Surf Designs, and Gabrielle Swimwear for the summer that’s upon us, ideal also for some work from Quick Tattoos.

The city’s favourite Cape Town Rollergirls clans will be offering fans T-shirts. And of course you are obliged to commemorate the day with a Dusty Rebels and the Bombshells T-shirt and calendar.
And if that isn’t enough to keep you entertained in between the Dickies Dirt Track, live music and burlesque stage, roller derby, fun fair and Miss Bombshell Betty Pin-up Pageant, we don’t know what is.

Dusty Rebels and the Bombshells takes place on Saturday 14 November 2015 at the West Coast Ostrich Ranch, from 12 noon.

Miss Happ does The Dusty Rebels Festival in Cape TOwn

The Miss Happ gals had such an awesome day on Sat at the Dusty Rebels and the Bombshells - Rockabilly festival. So fantastic to see how many peeps supported Miss Happ & wore our brand!

On the day Mandy & her assistant Natalie worked the stand, so it was just the two ladies holding down the fort, but they were super busy and loved every minute of it!

We had our Miss Happ gal, Little Harlequin together with The Blue Haired Betty posing with the Boot Hill Bootlegger - a stunning Pontiac Firebird 400 owned by Miss Happ's very own Mandy  (which was all in aid of our "Get us to Vegas" fund). Fans could pose with the car and donate and in return they got a signed photo of one of the Miss Happ gals going to Vegas next year!

But as always with all shows that we do it's great to meet new fans, and chat to some of our oldest.

We also had the honor of dressing the lovely singing duo The Marilynz for the stage performance on the day, and they looked mighty fine! For those interested, they will also be performing a Salute to the Troops next week at Alexander Bar in Cape Town. If you have an open evening, make sure you check them out!

Miss Happ & Boot Hill do the first Rockabilly Festival in Cape Town

Miss Happ & it's brother brand, Boot Hill joined the other vendors at the first ever Dusty Rebels Rockabilly Festival here in Cape Town on the 9th of November at the Ostrich Ranch on our West Coast.

Check out this -> video  <- from the day....

What had an awesome day, and even managed to sneak out to pose for a few pics later in the afternoon which is always so much fun! The only bugger for me as a vendor was the typical Cape Town wind, but I must say, we are fast becoming pros at dealing with it; tying, pinning, clamping, and pegging everything on site!!

We traded from 12 midday till about 7pm, and had a fantastic day. There was a great car show with other vendors who were showing also off their cool kustom bikes, as well as cool local bands in the Kustom Kulture scene that played through out the day.  Coming from a family who rides bikes I had to snap a few pics to send to my dad who sadly couldn't make it - he's a big BMW fan, having only owned BM's so I knew he would be keen to see the bikes from LOS MEURTOS (even if it included a Yamaha!)

A great effort was made by so many of the people visiting for the day and it really was so gratifying to see so many guys and girls dressed in Miss Happ & Boot Hill clothing - it's always so cool to see after so much hard work put in from our side.

If you don't know about our guys Rockabilly range of clothing, please do Check out our fb page if you haven't already -> Boot Hill

Till next time,
MH xx
